HV Protection

(OP)
I have started a new Job and have never been involved in HV protection before, I need to find an "idiots" guide to high voltage protection to get me up to speed, dose anyone know of a good website or could advise on a good book?

RE: HV Protection

Just noticed that my link to amazon.com isn't working.

Just search amazon for "protective relaying" to get the list to which I attempted to link.

RE: HV Protection

Ian,

Protection of Industrial power systems by T.Davis.ISBN -0-7506-2662-3 cost £35 in UK. It's very good if you have little undestanding of HV/LV protection.

RE: HV Protection

I'd second the book MIDOS has recommended.

The GEC / Alstom / Areva Protective Relay Application Guide is well worth buying or downloading for free from their website (apart from a massive phone bill ). There is a link to it elsewhere in Eng-Tips - use the search facility, or just trawl the Areva website.
