Thermit Welding

(OP)
Hello,
I'm looking for a training program/course in the New England area where I can get one of my employees certified/trained in thermite rail welding. Also, does anyone know of any companies that do on site thermite rail welding?

RE: Thermit Welding

I checked with my old RR buddy who at one time was a thermite welder about training.  He said he only knows that a few RR unions still have Thermite welder training programs. He gave me a site of magazine that has articles on all things concerning RR.  Another place you might get a lead is from a large shipyard.  There is an AWS book that has some information on Thermite Welding at Normas.  Two outfits that I’ve seen around Thermite welding are the Holland Co. and Organ-Thermite.
