Open solidworks assembly in solidedge

hello ,

is it possible to open solidworks assembly (*.sldasm) in solidedge ?
Or do i convert the assembly to a step format first ?

Thanks

RE: Open solidworks assembly in solidedge

You will need to convert to parasolid (x_t) or step.
Other formats that can be opened in SE (iges, sat, ...) should also be tried if the results you get are not satisfying.

NB: Look at the import options in SE. they can be very helpful. Check also the export options in SW.

thanks for the reply,

In solidworks i can open a solid edge assembly with extension : *.asm

Does solid edge support also a *.slasm extension ?

RE: Open solidworks assembly in solidedge

Unfortunately Mike, Solid Edge does not support opening sldasm files.  Parasolid (x_t) is you best option.
