Mechanical Properties decrease after forming.

Mechanical Properties decrease after forming.

(OP)
I noticed a decreasing in the mechanical properties after forming the pipe for the Spiral Pipes only …about 25%.... Why do we have this decreasing?

Any body Know about “Bauselirger Effect” Phenomena?

Regards,

dreamschool;
If you mean the "Bauschinger effect" instead of the Bauseliger effect, it deals with the dependence of yield strength on loading path and loading direction.  Example from Dieter - "Mechanical Metallurgy";

...if a specimen has yielded (plastically deformed) in one direction (tension), and then is unloaded to zero stress and then reloaded under compression to the same level of stress, the yield stress upon reloading under tension will be less than the original yield strength.

RE: Mechanical Properties decrease after forming.

You can expect changes in properties of your material after any deformation. this changes can to some extend be reversed if a heat treatment like annealing is applied to your material.

RE: Mechanical Properties decrease after forming.

Mechanical cold working stresses (like those from bending or forming) strain harden the material, which changes the mechanical properties of the material.
