Tube expanding ratio

Tube expanding ratio

(OP)
Dear all,
I Believe there is no requirement for tube expanding ratio in standards (ASME, TEMA and API 660).
Could anyone help me regarding this ?
Now I am designing heat exchanger with strength weld and light expand.

RE: Tube expanding ratio

What is the Tube material?

RE: Tube expanding ratio

See ASME SecVIII Div1 Appendix A, See Part UHX.

Go to the Elliott,Airetool,or T. Wilson web sites.

RE: Tube expanding ratio

roniprabowo,

You may want to consider Hydraulic Expansion. This process utilizes direct water pressure inside the tube and produces minimal wall reduction. Expansion pressure is calculated off of the yields and tensiles of the materials involved the tube & tubesheet. It also does not cold work or generate work hardening to near the extent that conventional roller expansion does. i.e. extended bundle and tube life. How thick is your tubesheet? What size tubes & wall? What materials?

Best Regards, Joey
