Seismic and Wind Design for Imported Equipment

Seismic and Wind Design for Imported Equipment

Seismic and Wind Design for Imported Equipment

(OP)
When equipment (columns, pressure vessels)- designed to ASME VIII as an acceptable alternative to AS 1210 - are imported into Australia can the seismic and wind load design be done in accordance with the UBC code or do you have to use the Australian standard AS 1170 parts 2 and 4 for this?
Of course when using the UBC the design wind speeds, shape factors, seismic factors, etc should be equivalent to or in excess of the AS standard requirements.
The reason I am asking this is as stated in a previous thread AS 1210 designs are done using software such as Compress or PV Elite which design in accordance with ASME VIII and the UBC.
Thanks
