does anyone know the name of an automated CBR testing apparatus?  either the manufacturer name or the common lab name would help.

Well,
I'm not really sure.  maybe a piece of equipment that digitally reads time/deflection or other pertinent data?  our lab guys asked,  they are looking for a less cumbersome approach.

As my NY friends would say,

FUHGEDABOUDIT!!!!!

The test can be done with a triaxial load frame, load cell and LVDT/displacement transducer.  You can use a data acquisition system to retrieve the load/deflection data.  But unless you run a lot of CBRs this is WAY too expensive to ever justify given the other costs involved in the test procedure.

One of the problems with "automating" the CBR test is that judgment is needed in evaluating the measurements...
