raster image in paperspace causes text to dissappear
raster image in paperspace causes text to dissappear
(OP)
We have an interesting problem at our office and I was wondering if anyone has had the same problem and/or knows how to correct it. We have been inserting scanned images into model space, then creating a viewport in paperspace and scaling it there. The problem comes in when we try to insert text in paperspace over the viewport, the text disappears underneath the viewport. We have run the whole range of options using "display order" and have even tried to put negative elevations on the viewport and positive elevations on the text but we always get the same results. It will PLOT correctly (the text showing up over the viewport), but on the screen, you can't see the text or where it is which makes it very frustrating to try and edit. We could just put the text in model-space but want to avoid that as we would then have to scale it and we are trying to stick with one text style/size for our standards.

There are also raster image variables that may could help you. They are different than your display order command.

The problem you describe is a known problem in AutoCAD 2002 when the viewport has been set to parallel projection. The problem may also occur when the viewport display mode is set to something other than 'wireframe'. Note that display mode of 'wireframe' still allows the viewport itself to be set to hide when plotted. I think the problem has been fixed in later AutoCAD releases.
