U- Values

(OP)
I am looking for a U-Value for 2" thick Cellular Terracotta, which is 3/4" terracotta and 1-1/4" air.

Thanks

RE: U- Values

Using a textbook value for Slate of R = 0.1 for 1"

Building the assembly as

.375" Terracotta
1.25" Air
.375" Terracotta

I got an assembly R value of 2 hr-ft2-degF/Btu, or a U value of 0.5 Btu/hr-ft2-degF.

Might not be perfect, but it should be pretty close.

RE: U- Values

I got a "U" value of 0.47 btu hr/sqft/deg F
