Slow sketcher

Slow sketcher

Slow sketcher

(OP)
I have a P4 2.67Ghz 512MB RAM and a matrox millenium g550 graphic card.

But when I'm in the sketcher everything lags and everything is very slow. I have downloaded the latest matrox drivers, but it doesn't help.
I have read something about OpenGL, but I can't find out to fix it.

please help me!!

RE: Slow sketcher

are those very complicated sketches? if yes, use a few simple features instead a just one that is very complicated. it's faster, and easier to update/meke changes later.

No it's enough with just one line. it takes about one minute to draw one line!!!
It has to be a configuration problem.
please someone!!!

RE: Slow sketcher

Marcus,

Please play with the following option in config.pro:

gaphics  opengl (default value) / win32_gdi

Or try to download the latest drivers for your matrox card.

RE: Slow sketcher

I've seen the same happen - It looked like the graphics card was at fault in our case. The graphics card I tried was a 16Mb card and I never bothered looking at the required specs (64Mb) till after the install when I discovered the sketcher was really slow. I tried the config change from openGL, but there wasn't a significant improvement.

I found one solution to this. I set the color to 16bit instead of 32bit, and it works perfect.
