Fuel regulation in generators - Governors?
Fuel regulation in generators - Governors?
(OP)
Hi all,
Could someone enlighten me on how fuel regulation in generators is achieved? I am aware that this is one of the functions of the governor module but some detail on how it is achieved will be helpful.
Pointers to relevant literature on the web will also be apprecialted.

RE: Fuel regulation in generators - Governors?
The control valve is normally the output element of a closed-loop control system designed to maintain some parameter at a pre-determined value. That value could be one of the following:
Generator speed held constant under changing load
Generator output held constant under changing frequency (when attached to a larger system)
Generator speed controlled to follow some defined acceleration curve (typically for turbines)
The closed-loop control system will require some sort of sensor to measure whatever the controlled variable is(speed, power, etc) to provide feedback.
