Ford VSS Question:

Basicly, I need to get a vss signal from an older TR-3550 transmission to work with a new Ford F-350 Powertrain Control Module, and Crown Victoria guage cluster.  Are all signals compatible?

In 1999 the 6.8L v10 ford trucks started using ABS sensor-based VSS.  I suppose this means that the PCM needs ABS sensor-base vss ONLY, and is now incompatible with gear-driven sensors.

However; I am not sure of what method the 1999 Ford Crown Victoria uses to procure its VSS signal, or if the A/C pulses correspond to those of the 1999 Ford trucks.

Without VSS on this vehicle, i am unsure on how the 6.8L V10 would operate in a crown victoria. I do need a working speedometer, and im not quite sure on what the PCM uses VSS for, or if it is completely needed.
