Generator Configuration

(OP)
I have a 12kw military genset.  The engine and generator have been rebuilt.  The output selector switch has been wet and has a problem.  It is a 220 volt 12 lead generator so I can hard wire it any way I wish.  As I am only interested in single phase I plan to eliminate the selector switch.  My question is whether to use the ‘Z’ or double-delta configuration.  Any pro’s or con’s to either method?

Thanks,

Fred Schroeder
