CalComp TEchJet 720 driver for 2004; W XP

CalComp TEchJet 720 driver for 2004; W XP

I have a CalComp Techjet 720 (model 5436R.)  Switching from r14 to 2000, the plotter configured, but never plotted quite correctly--orientation, etc. out of wack, but marginally usable.  I'm afraid to go to 2004 with it in present condition.  Anyone know of drivers or upgrade support for this older plotter?

RE: CalComp TEchJet 720 driver for 2004; W XP

I have the same plotter, and am using it with AutoCAD 2002, under Win2000.  I believe a prior user here with LT 2000 was unable to find a compatable AutoCAD driver..  The windows system drivers work, but have problems... specifically it ignores plot rotatation.  We also have other problems with it; it doesn't seem to like our plot server device, so we have it connected to a regular computer that I network to. And now, it won't print in color properly.

I know it is HPGL compatable, so it should be possible to use it as though it were a HP pen plotter.  However, I haven't played with any of that... and haing already spent many hours on it, have no desire to make it work anymore.

We were able to get a hand-me-down large format C-Sized printer from another dept, which is what I use 99% of the time.  The next time we are in absolute need of a D-Size color print, I will insist on a new plotter.

Thanks, Joe.  Same problem I had w/ACAD 2000.  Will keep searching--or perhaps invest in a new plotter.
