Cellular Manufacturing

(OP)
I have been asked to look into converting an assembly line in our plant to a manufacturing cell (or a group of cells).  I had never heard of cellular manufacturing until a few weeks ago, and I was hoping some of you would be able to either give me some basic information or refer me to some good (hopefully free) resources.  Thanks.

RE: Cellular Manufacturing

Society of Manufacturing Engineers www.sme.org has a wealth of information on lean/cellular manufacturing.

There ain't NOTHING free, go ahead and spend the money for the books.
