I've noticed that upon picking Insert->Annotations->Centerline and then selecting your two lines to place a centerline, that it shows up in the current layer, with that layer's color.  However, if you pick Insert->Annotations->Centerline and then select a view so it generates all the centerlines in that view, the centerlines default to black.  They cannot be changed.  For those of us with black drawing fields this is pretty inconvenient.  Does anyone know how to change the default to another color?  I could not find a setting like this in options and it is not included in the list of colors under system options.

RE: Insert->Annotations

Hmmm ... I have no problem changing centreline colour using SW2004-SP1.
What OS & Graphics Card do you have & what version of SW & SP are you using.

OK, so….what's the speed of dark?

RE: Insert->Annotations

Have you tried to toggle your color display mode?  You can find that icon on the line format toolbar.

We are still running SW2003 SP1.  Maybe this problem will go away with SW 2004.

I think the solution lies in figuring out which of the system options controls automatically inserted centerlines.

Toggling the color display mode only switches between your customized layers and SW defaults....which means defaulting the cl's to black.

I have also succesfully changed centreline colour using SW2003-SP0, so it must be a setting someone has changed or possibly a faulty install. I seldom use layers, & never use different coloured lines. Their was no need for coloured lines when I was "on the board" & I have no use for them now.
Darn young'uns .... when I was a lad ......   .... huh, what .... oh, yeh, umm.

Try changing the options back to the default settings with Tools > Options > System Options > Reset All
