"Newbie" 3Ph windings to RPM?

"Newbie" 3Ph windings to RPM?

"Newbie" 3Ph windings to RPM?

(OP)
Hello to All

Please forgive my lack of knowledge on this subject.

Leeson 3ph motor
No Tag
Output Shaft Dia. 1.125
Rolled Steel Housing: Length 9.500 X Width 8.375
Squirrel Stator
There are 36 steel bar segments, there is a group of 3 segments to wich each segment has a large amount of copper wires crimped into it, as i trace this 3 segment section to  where it goes into the next segment of 3 bars is at 90 degrees.

There are (9) t wires coming out of the junction box.

What would the RPM be of this motor, and is there anyway of finding the HP.

Secound question this motor is for a large disc grinder that will have a 22" disc, the input shaft to the disc is 1 15/16".

I would like to turn the disc at aprox 1450 RPM, any help on sheave size for this application.

Thank You, for any help

Chris

or have you already tried them? Customer service doesn't always charge for services. Why not e-mail a pic of it to them?

RE: "Newbie" 3Ph windings to RPM?

Groups 90 degrees apart sounds like a four pole motor!
At 50hz that would be around 1425 rpm, 1750 for 60hz.

Can you post a link to a picture of the windings?

Suggestion: Contact Leeson tech support. Also, it may be brought to a motor repair shop for establishing the power ratings and windings configuration.

Posting an email address is a "no no" on this site. You will have to put your pictures on a home page and post the link!

Suggestion: What about faxing the pictures?
