Comparison between ASTM A 106 Gr B and API 5L Gr.B

(OP)
I need to know the substantial differences between the ASTM A 106 Gr B Vs.the API 5L Gr.B, above 6" diameter.
Thanks a lot.

RE: Comparison between ASTM A 106 Gr B and API 5L Gr.B

A-106 B is seamless and deoxidized with Silicon. 5L-B may be seamless or welded, deoxidized or not. While A-106 will meet API 5LB, the converse is not.

A106 Gr. B is suitable for high temperature service.

Cheers,
