California Elec Code - Office Furnishings - Lighting - Daisy Chaining

(OP)
Looking for insight as to whether or not daisy chaining of two fluorescent light fixtures within an original office furniture work station is permissable within San Franciso, CA.

The fixtures are UL Listed and configured for the purpose of daisy chaining.

I have located a portion of the older 1998 California Electrical Code, Article 605.

Any guidance on potential concerns, applicable code sections, local SF exceptions etc. would be helpful.
