Suitable material for valve body

Suitable material for valve body

Suitable material for valve body

(OP)
We are designing a solenoid valve body which is to be compliant with the European PED requirements.
The valve is to have a working pressure of 350 bar and operate from -40C to +80C.
We want to be able to machine it out of steel bar so we want a material that is easy to machine.
We were thinking of using AISI 1040. Would this be suitable per the PED. Any suggestions for a more suitable material.

Thanks.
