UNABLE TO OPEN FILES W/O FIRST LAUNCHING SW PROGRAM
UNABLE TO OPEN FILES W/O FIRST LAUNCHING SW PROGRAM
(OP)
After downloading Service Pack 2.1 I am unable to open a solidworks file by clicking on the icon, unless I first have the Solidworks program opened. In other words, without first having SW running, if I just try to open a file, it will not launch SW.... I get an error message.... "the application has failed to start (referring to SW) because IMPLODE.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem." I am assuming the "IMPLODE.DLL" is some sort of extension that links a file with the corresponding application program.... and because that extension is not there.... the link is not being made.
If I first open SW and then click on the file.... it will then open.
Does anyone have any insight into this..... and how can I fix the problem.
thanks your your insights.

RE: UNABLE TO OPEN FILES W/O FIRST LAUNCHING SW PROGRAM
You will probably find it in several locations for different applications. You should be able to copy it from one location to another. In this case make sure there is a copy of it in C:/Program Files/SolidWorks & C:/Windows/System32.
If it is not on you system, see if you can copy it from the SW CD's or download from the 'net.

Remedy: do a clean installation of solidworks.. see FAQ's for how to do this.. turn off anti-virus app, then re-install.
