PTFE Lined Pressure Sustaining Valves

PTFE Lined Pressure Sustaining Valves

PTFE Lined Pressure Sustaining Valves

(OP)
Does anyone have any experience of using PTFE lined pressure sustaining valves?

We are designing a pumping station to transfer flows from a low pressure system (<4bar) to a higher pressure system (normally >12 bar).

The pumps that we've selected are 12 bar differential head type pumps.

Sometimes, the system that we're pumping into does not have any flow in it, and so is at a much lower pressure.

We have therefore decided to include a pressure sustaining valve between the pumps and the tie-in to the higher pressure system.  This is to provide the pumps with some resistance to work against, so that they stay on their curve.

Due to the nature of the liquids being pumped, we have specified that all of the pipes and valves are to be PTFE lined.

However, we're finding it really difficult to find anybody who supplies what we're after.

Can anyone please help with names of suppliers (preferably UK or Europe), and / or anecdotal experience?

For information, the pipework is 80mm diameter, Class 150.  The flows that we're transferring are 20m3/hr, consisting of liquid chemicals, with negligible solids.

Thanks in advance.

Try www.broady.co.uk/ based in Hull East Yorkshire. I have recently had a quote from them for 80mm flanged all 316 S.Steel in-line pressure sustaining valves PED rated class 300. I needed these for use in progressive cavity pump protection. I believe they supply to the MOD so quality shouldn't be an issue

Hi!
Try these guys in the UK (I think). Maybe they can help you:

Whessoe Varec
Safety Systems
They have sites on the internet.

Best luck!

RE: PTFE Lined Pressure Sustaining Valves

Hi,

Try www.cla-val.com and surf to their "solution city". You will find pressure sustaining valves type 50-01 Series somewhere in the middle of the picture. With this type of valve there is hardly a limit to what you can do. I am however not sure if they have (or if you need) a PTFE lined valve
There if a link to the swiss Cla-val site, but I have not discovered the 50-01 Series there. You might need to contact them in the USA or in Switzerland.

Good luck.
