How to display only selected nodes in a output file?

How to display only selected nodes in a output file?

How to display only selected nodes in a output file?

(OP)
Hy everybody!
I need to know the coordinates of certain nodes (not all nodes) of my mesh for postprocessing exactly in the way i select them. For doing this i can click on all nodes and then ask Patran to show me their coordinates (SHOW NODE LOCATION): Patran will open a window with the coordinates of the nodes selected numbered exactly in the order i've selected them.

My problem is that i would like to put the content of that table on a text file since i need to perform some postprocessing on the nodes (the nodes must be read by an external FORTRAN program).

So my question is: is there any way to display in a text file the coordinates of some nodes that i select with mouse?

Thanks in advance

RE: How to display only selected nodes in a output file?

You can define a group that contains the nodes that you are interested in.  In the results window you can create a report that contains the group you are interested in and write the x, y, z node locations to a file.  You can only access the results if you have a results file.  There are probably easier ways to do it, but that should work.

Cheers,
Antti.
