including symbol intable cell

Hello,

When you enter &sym(symbol_name) in a table cell it is possible to get a symbol in this cell.
However is there a way to get this in a tables repeat region.
I want to have a bom (table) with column where are symbols in.

RE: including symbol intable cell

Hello,

Not sure I fully understand your problem.

Is this what you are asking

You have a parameter for every part and you want it to appear in the BOM?

If so you need to enter

&asm.mbr.(PARAM_NAME)

e.g. &asm.mbr.real_name

Is this what you require, or have I missed the point completely?

What I mean is that when I have a bom with different parameters in different collumns , in just one column I want to have a symbol.
Each part in my bom has a different symbol, I can get the symbols in my table by entering this text "&sym(symbol_name)"
Now the question is how can I get this text in teh table without entering it each time.

RE: including symbol intable cell

Hello,

I don't think you can do this, as each &sym(symbol_name) will be different, and the repeat region will not allow this.

I have tried creating PARAMETERS, RELATIONS, NOTES, all saying MY_SYM=&sym(SYMBOL NAME) and tried using that is the BOM all to no avail.

But I stand to be corrected if someone can achieve this.

I am running 2001.
