Newbie Question

Newbie Question

Newbie Question

(OP)
When trying to cut a section in drafting mode, the application crashes with some 9000 entity error.  Is there a better way to create a section view? am I doing it wrong?

RE: Newbie Question

I have two solutions.
1. In Drafting, move the section line a small amount to either side of where you want the section cut.  Update and see if that works.  If not or you need it exactly where the section will not update then,

2. In Modeling, cut the section manually.  If you use Associatvie Output and a datum plane when you model updates the manual section will also update.  Move the resulting section curves to a layer.  In drafting, create a view with the only layer visable the one with the manual section.  That is the best/only work around.  Make sure you make the failing section with Referance or make no layer visable in that view.
