Dear all,

Im designing a heat exchanger and it is required to include a desresonating baffle in the heat exchanger. Does anybody know where can I find resources about this desresonating baffle and how does this affect the vibration calculation in a heat exchanger

regards,

vijay

RE: desresonating baffle

The de-resonating baffle is used to increase the acoustic frequency, thus eliminating acoustic vibration problems. The first deresonating baffle is placed at 45% of shell ID.  If higher mode of acoustic vibration is predicted, the second deresonating baffle is placed at 82% shell ID.
