The frequency of oscillation of a gyrocompass
is dependent on latitude, as a gyrocompass
nears the north polar axis, what effect
does that have on the oscillation frequency ?

As the latitude approaches +/- pi/2 the frequency approaches zero (ie the gyrocompass no longer functions). What is the reason for this question ?
