Importing STEP file error

Importing STEP file error

Importing STEP file error

(OP)
Right then. I have imported a stamped metal surface STEP file. In the feature manager there is a little error logo on the Surface-import step telling me that it is not happy. As a result, I can't do anything modifications other than delete a few of the surfaces. When I try anything else, I keep getting:

Surface-Imported1: Warning: Imported geometry has 3 Check entity error(s)

Is there something that I can do differently so that there are no errors because I can't find the errors.

Paul.

RE: Importing STEP file error

Paul,
Right click imported geometry and choose Diagnosis -> Faces -> Diagnose & than you can fix or remove bad faces.

RE: Importing STEP file error

If diagnosis fails to fix the faces, perhaps delete the faces and replace them with surfaces of your own making, then knit the surfaces and make a solid.

I do this sometimes.  Usually the offending surfaces are lends (spherical portions are a nuisance).  These aren't difficult to replace.  Patch works well for this.
