Importing DXF files to Nastran for Windows from LT2002

Importing DXF files to Nastran for Windows from LT2002

Importing DXF files to Nastran for Windows from LT2002

(OP)
Nastran for Windows 2001 imports correctly AutoCAD dxf files saved only in AutoCAD LT 98.
Nastran for Windows 2001 will only read DXF files imported from AutoCAD LT 98, saved as DXF files. Nastran for Windows will not read DXF files from AutoCAD LT 2002, saved as DXF even when saved as  version 98 DXF files. Has anyone encountered this problem?- is there an Autodesk patch?

RE: Importing DXF files to Nastran for Windows from LT2002

Hi dooron

I have experienced the same problem, not from ACad LT but from ACad. I have no knowledge of any patch and I'm not sure if the error is in ACad or in FEMAP.

However, now I use Nastran for Windows 2003 and the problem has disappeared so I think the problem was FEMAP. Before that I used the same method as you seem to do, swapping between ACad versions. It's not perfect but at least it works. The "best" solution is probably to upgrade N4W.

Good Luck

Thomas
