Material data database software
Material data database software
(OP)
Hi, do you know any good material database software available which can output material input decks to FEA softwares?
I know one cal JAHM (jahm.com), however, material properties in this software are limited. I am interested in steel properties at high strain rate and high temperature.
Thanks.
Ning

RE: Material data database software
It doesn’t automatically create FEA material input files, but there is a huge range of material data available there – over 38,000 materials on line. The database includes data for both “generic” materials, as well as proprietary materials. It has a nice feature that when you find the material datasheet you are interested in, you can quickly dump it onto a spreadsheet on your own system.
However, I don’t know how much you will find specifically relating to high temperatures and high strain rates, but it might still be a good place to start.
Generating suitable FEA data is usually a fairly trivial exercise, once you have the raw data.
Hope this helps.

There is a software called MSC.Mvision from MSC.Software that should have an extensive library. As for pricing etc I have no idea.
Good Luck
