Is it possible (for any given text style) to see what all of the %%123 synonyms are?
I seem to remember that to get a centreline symbol in the old version of autocad that I used to use - using text style Romans, it was %%174. This now gives me a ?.

Also is there (or has there ever been) a way of using synonyms to display 3/4?

Thanks Lothar - that is a usefull link (I also like the conversion program).

At my old company they had set up a unique text style which obviously used different extended ASCII symbols.

Is there a way of inserting the centerline symbol (also the 3/4 symbol) into romans text, or do I have to bodge it with a block or drawn objects?

RE: %%synonyms

I don't know a code for a single-lined text (dtext)
For mtext type 3#4 -> highlight all-> press a/b-> ready
Heading "AutoStack"  I think...

RE: %%synonyms

There is a center line symbol in the GDT font.  Use MTEXT to place the symbol.

RE: %%synonyms

mtext > symbol > other > GDT for centerline symbol.

With romans: "3/4" > higlight "3/4" > right-click > stack.

RE: %%synonyms

Back in Rel. 13 or 14, there were a few drawing files (EURO____.DWG, ROM_____.DWG, TEB_____.DWG, TEL_____.DWG, etc. each for a different font). These drawings consisted of rows/columns numbered 0-255 each with its coresponding character in that font.  Just change the font of the style for whatever you want.  I don't see these with 2002, so it you'd like one of these drawings just email me at smotichek@projectconstulting.com and I'll send it to you.

Thankyou everyone for your responses.
I have got the required symbols onto the drawings using mtext (as described above).
It is a shame that there is no way of inserting the symbols into dtext, as the text strings on the old drawings I am updating generally contain dtext only.
I will just convert the text to mtext.

thanks again,

Neil

RE: %%synonyms

Hi Neil,

I think mtext is more flexible than the ascii-codes. You can write more symbols like 124/65, 2/3 etc...
If You want to convert text to mtext, then use "text2mtext" from the Express-Toools.

Bye, Lothar
