Solid edge 14 draft

(OP)
How do I create a rendered solid image on a draft document? A 3d solid/part of what the item will look like. Is there some way of importing the item from PART and pasting it to the draft or what ? help would be much app'

RE: Solid edge 14 draft

What version?

v15 allows this, but for everything else you will need to import a graphics file onto the drawing face.

RE: Solid edge 14 draft

You can try saving the part file as an image file then insert the file as an object into draft environment. You may want to set the part environment background colour similar to draft environment before saving the image file. This will give you a seamless image.

Hope this helps.

RE: Solid edge 14 draft

Of course, after I post my message I reread the subject and it explicitly states v14.  Sorry to reask that.

FWC does give an excellent description of the steps you should take to create the image.

Be aware, there are some image files that will only show up as an icon, not the picture.  There are several work arounds for this, including inserting the image into Word or some other program and then cut-n-paste the image into SE Draft rather than using the Insert-->Object command.
