problem install disk2 of IDEAS-9

problem install disk2 of IDEAS-9

problem install disk2 of IDEAS-9

(OP)
I've tried to install IDEAS-9 on my computer,os:win XP home,
but at the end of the disk2 (98%) an error message appears and the install is consequently not complete.
Thank you for your help!

RE: problem install disk2 of IDEAS-9

check and see if you can use home xp , you might have to use xp pro for IDEAS.

RE: problem install disk2 of IDEAS-9

For I-DEAS 9 the correct OS is W2K SP1 but it should load to XP although Orbix won't run, hence some of the translators and other 3rd party applications will not work.

I've found v9 a bit tempremental to install before, certainly if you try to load all modules in one go. What worked for me was to load a single module to start with so that it would got through and set the TDM up and everything once then install a second time and add the modules you want.

It may be worth a try.

RE: problem install disk2 of IDEAS-9

Are you running out of disk space someplace?

And I'd check the XP home thing, as it's definitely NOT the same as XP Pro.  It would be on the first disk in a readme under 'supported platforms' or similar, except that I'm not even sure if IMS9 was out when XP launched, but take a look.

BTW, Win2k sp3 also works fine for IMS9, though you do need to be careful if you've got any funky networking (or no networking), as the license ties to your network adapter...
