abrassive liner material at higher temperatures

abrassive liner material at higher temperatures

(OP)
We are looking for a material for an abrassion resistant lining. This lining will be placed in the final bend of a coal feeding line of a powerplant furnace.

The material has to be resistant to sulfur (in the coal) and to temperatures up to 400 degC.

Does there exist a white cast iron grade that can withstand these conditions?

Thanks in advance for any help,

High chrome cast iron material can be used for this application. also there are instances of using refractory lined pipes, which can withstand abrasion and temperature.

We were thinking of high Cr cast irons, but were wondering how it would withstand the high temperature.

RE: abrassive liner material at higher temperatures

400C is not a very high temperature for high chrome iron. If you use 27% Cr grade you can get better life. Also if you browse through NiDI literature you can find pictures of NiHard material being used for similar application.I have recently supplied liner plates for a coke hopper in a blast furnace,in this grade. It has given good life. I can research a few references and come back later advocating the use of high chrome irons. Hope it helps.
