Balance tank outlet nozzle

Balance tank outlet nozzle

Balance tank outlet nozzle

(OP)
I am installing a small balance tank, 750mm diam, 1 metre tall, to handle 20 cubes/hr of juice flow.

Will a conical base with the outlet at the bottom cause a swirling motion which I am trying to minimise? The tank has an anticlockwise tangential entry half way up, and we are in the southern hemisphere.
What about an eccentric rather than concentric conical base?
I am also considering having a sloped base with a gullet outlet on the low side.
Your experiences or knowledge on the fluid motion within this tank with the various options of outlets would be appreciated

Quentin

RE: Balance tank outlet nozzle

Why can't you provide baffles on shell (and if possible on dish also)?
