WPS for P8-1 Material

WPS for P8-1 Material

WPS for P8-1 Material

(OP)
I recently ordered a custom made 316L SS vessel.  The WPS they sent me for approval is for 304L SS base material.  Since both 304L and 316L materials are a P8 Group 1 materials, I think this WPS is okay???

Anybody know???

RE: WPS for P8-1 Material

Yes, except if additional supplementary requirements like, chemistry, corrosion and/or ferrite number specified.....

Thanks and regards

If it moves, train it...if it doesn't move, calibrate it...if it isn't written down, it never happened!

RE: WPS for P8-1 Material

Yes indeed, one more situation to add, if you have overlay in flanges then also you may have to have wps of 316L
