Pro/weld symbol problem

Pro/weld symbol problem

Pro/weld symbol problem

(OP)
I am using pro/weld to create symbols on the drawing.

The current symbols place a numeral in the reference section. I would like to change this to a reference text.

Such as "4X" or "see note 2"

Any suggestions?

RE: Pro/weld symbol problem

Hello,

You can make a copy of the symbol, have the reference as VAR TEXT, create a relation e.g. WELD_TEXT="4x", then when you insert the symbol change the VAR TEXT to &WELD_TEXT, 4x will appear.

This is quite tricky as there are many options to go through.

THis is not exactly what you want, as you just still do want to do show and erase.

I think you may be able to amend the standard symbols, I'm not going to try that as it may overwite all existing ones.

We had a guy from PTC and we questioned weld symbols as they were a bit long for our drawings, and I think he explained a way of creating the weld symbols, that may be used ffrom show/erase. I'm not certain about this, it may be worth giving them a call if you have a maintainance agreement.

Hope this helps.
