I-deas newbie question

I-deas newbie question

I-deas newbie question

(OP)
I'm using I-deas 10.  For a drafting picture, on the lower left or right corner, there is a box specifying parts number, name...etc.  What is the name for it?  I don't know how to get that thing to show up on my screen.

Do you mean the titleblock?

ya ya, that's it.  How do I put one on my drawing?  I heard for big corporation, they usually have their own title block.  I'm just wondering if I-deas has a default one

RE: I-deas newbie question

it used to, but not sure if what you've installed has them or not.

Either way, as the 'new' drafting now uses symbol files (.sym) for the titleblock insert (for IMS9 column one and either row 4 or 5 [in drafting] depending on which menu's you use), you can simply create whatever titleblock you'd like to use (using said drafting, etc) and then save it out as a symbol.

Assuming you setup standard locations, sizes, etc, you'll be able to pick the correct symbol when you pick a certain size, etc.

Does this help?
