Dimensioning accross broken view

Dimensioning accross broken view

(OP)
I am trying to dimension a long part that has a hole pattern that runs the length of the part. Once I break the part to fit it on the format, I can't dimension accross the breaks. Is one of my settings wrong? It seem that I used to be able to do this.
Thanks,
Kim

RE: Dimensioning accross broken view

Hi,
This much I know....
If you are creating linear dimensions across a broken view, you must dimension to the center of the hole and not the hole axis - use the query select and pick "center".
I am not sure whether or not this will work with ordinate dimensions.
I guess the other option would be to redefine your hole pattern to your part datum edges - and "show" dimensions.
A lot more work....

Hope this helps,

JW

Thanks - That worked great! It seems impossible to remember everything and this forum helps a lot.
