FEA Mesh Software

FEA Mesh Software

FEA Mesh Software

(OP)
I would like to get software that will allow me to define a geometry, generate a mesh and save the model to a DFX file.
For instance, define a nozzle intersecting a shell or head and create the mesh. Modify the mesh if needed that will optimize the eventual FEA results. Maybe the software can generate a mesh that can be used with plate or solid elements.

I'm thinking this could be a "stand alone" package. I know there are all kinds of mesh generating packages that are bundled with other commercial software.

Does anybody know if this software is available?

Thanks Very Much!!!!

I'm not trying to advertise or sell here, but this sounds like what you are looking for.....

An AutoCAD interface is currently under development at Paulin Research Group that will allow users of FE/PIPE to generate axisymmetric, shell, plate, and solid models for any geometry.  This sounds like it might work for you since AutoCAD generates DXF files.  The modeler will be offered as a standalone and bundled package.  However, the entire package would be required to do special modeling for surface intersections, trimming, etc. that is need to model nozzle to shell junction and other tricky shell intersections.
