Storm Drain Attachment Standard
Storm Drain Attachment Standard
(OP)
I have been given a standard for attaching a drain pipe to a storm drain. It is for the City of San Diego. The standard that is referenced is D-63. Essentially I am connecting a 10 inch drain pipe into the preformed concrete box located below grade at the curbside. Does anyone know how to find a 2D detail of this attachment method?

This attachment was suggested by the City and then approved by permit to do it. I had initially presented a plan to build a french drain and discharge through an under-sidewalk drain to the street. However that was superceded by them to discharge into the box.
In the course of submitting the plan, the city engineer added the 'D-63' connection and I didn't understand how it is done. So somewhere there is a standard that shows how it is made. I would ask you if it is merely a core through the box and sealing via a flange or different attachment all together.
