Bugs: time to clean CATSettings?

Bugs: time to clean CATSettings?

Bugs: time to clean CATSettings?

(OP)
Hi all,

I´ve using the same W2K Catia V5R10 install for some months now, and the buggy things I´ve seen so far are:

-2 or 3 sudden W2K restart (one every 3 weeks, I can cope with that

-the message "Brocken link" always with the same assembly (and a very simple one, for what`s worth)

-some weird process that I must kill manually when I turn the computer off ( a 3 letter name I don´t remember)

But it seems to me I´ve getting more and more "weird behaviours" of these.

Is this normal, since I progressively get deeper in the program, or is it time to do the CatSettings cleaning I´ve heard of?
And if so, please tell me how!

Thanks!

RE: Bugs: time to clean CATSettings?

Hi Friedrich, cleaning out your CATSettings may help but you should also check for unwanted software on your computer.

To clean out your CATSettings you need to make sure that hidden files are visible (Folder options in any windows explorer window).

Go to;-

C:\Documents and settings\**user name**\Local Settings\Application Data\Dassault Systemes\

(At least thats what I think the directory is!!)

In this directory you will find the CATSettings folder which should be deleted or renamed (depends on your personal choice, but I would suggest you should rename in case you find the problems don't go away).

Regards an good luck

Gary W.
