Air Exchange Rate - Industrial Mfg plant

Air Exchange Rate - Industrial Mfg plant

I am looking for any web links that detail method for calculating indoor air exchange rates.
Any links to recommended limits for industrial plants are also appreciated.

RE: Air Exchange Rate - Industrial Mfg plant

Air exchange rate (ACH) is just:

(cfm * 60) / room volume in ft3

ACH requirements would typically be based on generation rate of fugitive emissions for a plant. That could vary a bit...

RE: Air Exchange Rate - Industrial Mfg plant

You also have to clarify which cfm to use. It could be: supply air to get SA ACPH (air change per hour);
OA to get OA ACPH; or room total air which is the sum of supply air + transfer air in or sum of exhaust air + transfer air in. Note that in a room SA + TA in = Exh + TA out.

  From other posts that you have placed, apparently your facility deals with anodized Aluminum in a machine shop environment.
As ChasBean1 and lilliput1 indicate air change rates
for an industrial facility could have a wide variation.
The air change rate would be determined by specific codes,
or could be the result of dealing with a heat load,
or could be the sum of exhaust ventilation associated with each process, if your facility is not conditioned and only ventilated, and heated with make-up air.
When you say indoor air exchange rates, that indicates
return air only. Can you provide more information ?
