Has anyone found a spell checker that will run within SolidWorks yet? I thought I read one time that there was one, but search did not come up with it.

RE: spell check

Yes - kinda.  You can access spell checking from VBA/API tools.  So you would have to query the text, spell check it and rewite it back to the SW file.

We also use a tool for our drawing general notes which is a custom editor.  It puts the resulting notes into the drawing as a single SW object.

Is it possible to get a copy of your tool for editing notes?

RE: spell check

Maybe, maybe not.  The getting whole thing would be a company intelectual property issue, so we would need permission.  Just the way it is these days I'm afraid.  I'll see if I can get you the important bits or pointers to the method.  The guy is really busy right now. So no promises.

ok, I understand. Thanks again

I do run thru Word. But we have some engineers/designers that do not understand Word very well! ugh!
So I thought if there was a program that runs with SW for spell check, they can just run it and not think of any other program. Weird, huh? :)

Thanks Scott, I'll check it out

RE: spell check

And if you do try to run it through Word, don't put it back in the SW drawing as OLE.  It is not very user friendly from the drafting standards point of view.
