Information on Autoclave fitting specs

(OP)

I have seen some references to this subject in this forum, so I am posting here. If another forum is a better fit, please advise.

I am looking for information on the fitting style called "Autoclave" or "API." I have a pretty good idea of what the general design looks like, but I don't have detail info: tolerances, even nominal dimensions.

Can anyone point me to a good source of info on this? Is it a proprietary design? I have tried to get spec info from API directly, with no success.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Steve Hackney
