RE: What does SIP stand for ?
First thank you for the replies,
Mizkn,
Can you explain Steam in place a little bit further, it seems other people also call it sterilize in place. Or do you think we're talking about the same?
Arnie04,
Thanks for the link this was what i was looking for.
cheers
RE: What does SIP stand for ?
Related...yes, sterilization in place covers it...
Steam sterilization vs a cleaning agent sterilization..it depends on your process needs/design. If you are still looking for more centrifuge info try posting on the Pharmaceutical engineering forum under Chemical engineering. Your food industry CIP experience will assist.
Regards.
RE: What does SIP stand for ?
A typical sterilize in place cycle is 30 minutes when pure steam temperature is 1210C and with 1350C it can be as low as 10 minutes.
Further, when a critical equipment cannot be exposed to acids, alkalis and detergents, the CIP is done with steam and the term Steam In Place is used alternatively.
