Wind waves in canals

Wind waves in canals

Wind waves in canals

(OP)
I'm very interested in finding any information on modelling wind waves in canals or other inland long narrow waterways. I'm dealing with surface widths of around 80 metres and straight lengths along the canal of up to 5 kilometres.

Does anyone know of any guidelines / research / software available?

Thanks

RE: Wind waves in canals

You may find some information on this in the book:

Hydraulics of Open Channel Flow, Sergio Montes.  Available through the ASCE Press.  http://www.asce.org
