What precaution and adjustments should be made during cold weather for the welding of shear studs onto a composite beam?  Any good references or sources??  Thanks.

Check out AWS D1.1:2002, Section 7.5.4. "Welding shall not be done when the base metal temperature is below 0 degrees F or when the surface is wet or exposed to falling rain or snow." There are additional environmental requirements for SW in this section.
