FE rim assembly with an air tire

FE rim assembly with an air tire

FE rim assembly with an air tire

(OP)
I have developed a FE model in ABAQUS platform to simulate stress/strain behaviour of a multi piece rim subjected to a radial load.
Model is a rim/tire assembly with axisymmetric element.
I used a finer mesh for the rim and a somewhat coaser mesh for the tire, since I was only focusing on the rim.
Different contact conditions been diffined between tire and rim as well as the other components of the rim ( advanced band, lock ring and loose flange)
The mises as well as the inplane stresses , at the turning points of rim, lie around 200N/mm^2 even at inflation stage.
I feel this is too high !
I played with different contact conditions and found the same...
What could be the reason..?
Do I have to go for shell elements instead of 2D axisymmetric ?

What's the tire FEA Model?Material Properties of the tire?

(OP)
Its a 3D solid model with a carcass defined by hypoelastic rebar properties and tread/sidewall with hyperelastic Van der Waal coefficents.
