Importing Pro/E files, help?

Importing Pro/E files, help?

Importing Pro/E files, help?

(OP)
Having trouble with the SDRC_OI setting when importing files Pro/E files into Ideas 10.  Any advice how to enable the OI setting and where would be helpful.  Not sure where to set step two below.  This came from my Ideas prompt after the command failed?

Thanks in Advance!!

The Open I-DEAS Server has not been enabled.
To run this product, you must:
   1.) exit I-DEAS
   2.) type "export SDRC_OI_ON=1"
   3.) restart I-DEAS
NOTE: If you will be using this product often, you can add
"export SDRC_OI_ON=1" to your login profile.

RE: Importing Pro/E files, help?

Step 2 is meant to be typed at a DOS Prompt (ie, Command Window).

I would point out that it sounds like there may be a problem with your install for this message to appear (could be OS or version related, etc).

However, if you want to give it a try anyway, you'll likely want to ensure you're in the correct 'start-up' directory (ie, the one the I-DEAS Icon normally starts up the application from).

Rather than relying on the 'standard' setting for this, it's likely best if you right-click the I-DEAS icon you use to find the directory it's using, and then ensure you change to the directory listed [ie, CD c:\blah\blah\blah], then do step 2, and then execute the command as listed for said icon.

BTW, the 'login profile' reference could be handled in a couple different ways, depending on how you are setup currently, so would need additional info to assist there.
